Okay, okay, I know. How hot can you possibly look at 55, right? Still, I am beside myself with excitement today! After months of searching I have finally found THE PERFECT outfit to wear to our friend's son's wedding this month.
You know how exquisite you feel when you find *that* outfit? It just gives you such a feeling of superb gorgeousness, right down to your lingerie. To me, this is one of the best feelings on earth. Especially because I seldom ever find the perfect outfit, for any occasion. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've attended weddings feeling totally inappropriately dressed, and then all I want to do is go home. While this is perfectly fine with the HU (because he always wants to go home early), this is one wedding I intend to stay & enjoy.
I wasn't even going to buy anything new and then realized it was my friend Susan's son's wedding. What was I thinking? She was a fashionista of the highest degree. If she were still alive, she'd never speak to me again if I didn't get something fabulous to wear to the wedding. So, I had to do it to avoid repercussions from the grave. She'd do it too. Ms. Bottega Veneta herself. I think Sus would definitely approve of my choices.
Instead of a buffet reception, the bride's parents are giving a sit-down dinner reception at The Petroleum Club. In all of my wedding experiences, I've never attended a sit-down dinner wedding reception for 600 guests. So, I felt that the occasion called for something a bit more toned down than say, cocktail attire. Everything arrived today and it all fits to a T, so I'm all set to go. This gorgeous cocktail suit is fully lined and is made of a silk & linen blend. And the pearls! I love the pearls and they aren't even Silpada. So, this what I found:

Great outfit. Especially the shoes. And you know WHY I'm singling out the shoes!
OOOhhh I love it! I agree with the shoes too. Great choices 4 thumbs up!
I knew Suzy would go for the shoes, LOL! Shoe freak! (you know I mean that in the kindest way)

Dahhhling - you must post a picture of you all dressed up. This outfit is simply divine.
Oh we're gonna want pictures. So elegant you will be. I cannot even imagine a sit down for 600...holy moley!
Absolutely gorgeous outfit. Loving the shoes as well. I can completely understand your excitement about the whole outfit. You must post pics of yourself in it now for us to see.
Gorgeous-- stunning outfit and if you were my mother (meaning you were only ten when you gave birth to me), I would be really proud to have you show up in that. Gorgeous.
Madre! Loving the outfit! Especially the shoes, too bad we don't wear the same size... Oh Kristen and the baby are coming in town either this weekend or next, I need to tell her to stop by...
Thanks everyone. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. I never find anything that looks this elegant and I think I can probably wear these for a while. It'll probably become my *uniform*.
Hey Snooty I tried to comment earlier but somethin happened. What I wanted to know is: Will you go shopping with me??? You have awsome taste in clothes!!
Come on down to Texas, honey! We've got the best places to shop down here, and plenty of it! It's not just something you have to do in Texas. It's a way of life.
It's fabulous. Truly. If I wouldn't end up slaughtered in my own blood over the cost (husband is thrify), I would ask where you got it.
Sigh... it's still fabulous!
Stunning! And you say you ordered it? How lucky that it fits perfectly. I need a uniform like this for special occasions!
You're going to look so fantastic!!
