I've Always Been A Complete Sucker For Period Pieces.....

Perhaps it started with Gone With The Wind and carried on throughout my life with the likes of Wuthering Heights and many others. I adore movies that are "period pieces". Last of the Mohicans, Out of Africa, Emma, Sense & Sensibility, Dangerous Liasons, Valmont, Cold Comfort Farm, Vanity Fair, Braveheart and the list goes on and on.



A couple of nights ago, I was fortunate enough to come across a movie that I'd not see before and was thrilled with it. It's called Miss Potter and is an actual account of the life of Beatrix Potter, which is quite charming. Ever since my daughter was born, I'd been collecting Beatrix Potter figurines for her, never having known the true story behind the woman. If you're a period piece nutcake like me, then you must see this film, because it is simply fascinating.


I've never much cared for Renee Zellwegger until I saw her in Bridget Jones and then in Chicago. Now, with this new addition to my her repertoire, I think she's a seethingly brilliant actress and I cannot seem to get enough of her work. Well, the good work anyway.




She was a modern woman in a Victorian Society and refused to conform and it's the loveliest movie. She also had a mother like The Brown Recluse, which makes me feel as if we have a secret between us... even though she's been dead for quite some time. At any rate, I highly recommend this chick flick. I give it 4 stars!
