What A Year 2009 Is Going To Be....

If New Year's Eve was any indication of how the New Year is going to pan out, then I'm going to be a Happy Camper. We went to a fun party and were home by 1:00 AM, which is actually rather late for those of us who are dangerously approaching the geriatric age. Still, it was a fun, casual party. This was the host couple --> It was great not having to get dressed up for the party!

I took my Texas Caviar and also did the Grapes & Champagne Thing suggested by Cathy of Noble Pig. Everyone had nothing but sweet grapes, which means we're all going to have a great 2009, right? Right? Well, that's what I'm rolling with anyway. There's nothing like starting the year off with a happy, positive outlook, is there? It certainly doesn't hurt.

However, the fun we had at our little party paled in comparison to the party our daughter went to at the country club. As it turned out, her friend's Dad got married yesterday so their party turned out to be a surprise wedding reception. And get this... Lyle Lovett and his band played for the party, as did Austin's own Jack Ingram (who I'm crazy about). I just about died when SD told me, because I also like Lyle Lovett and have never gotten to see him in concert. She said they really rocked the house!

This is a picture of our daughter just before the limo came to pick her up. She spent half the day yesterday spray painting her crutches gold and adding a rather redneck looking cup holder. It was absolutely hysterical and she said people were commenting on it throughout the night. Hmmm... Wonder what they really thought.

So I'm sitting here having my New Year's Day Mimosa with my favorite French champagne, which is just one more New Year's tradition in my world. It won't be long until nap time....

I think we did around 50 Champagne Poppers, which laid to rest all over everyone, but they were the most harmless fireworks I could find.

Here's wishing everyone nothing but good things for the coming year!

I sounds like you had a great time.

But I think you daughter picked the best party. I can't believe Lyle Lovett was there with his band. Now That would have been a great New Years Eve Party. I'm sure you are kicking your self. Then again you would have to get all dressed up.
I sure you would have been all over that party if you had know who the entertainment was going to be.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

Oh, I forgot to comment on your daughter's golden crutches. How inventive, and I love the cup holder. LOL 8-)

Now what color is she going to paint them?

I'd only be upset if we had been invited, lol. We don't know her friend's Dad well enough to be invited because we've only met him a couple of times. We saw he & his new bride at dinner last week & I did my best to schmooze...

SD says she's keeping the crutches gold and keeping the cup holder. Heh heh

Your party sounds like fun, too. I love the crutches. Snazzy! Perhaps your daughter should get a patten on that cup holder!

OMG SD rocks! The golden crutches and drink holder totally rock...it's brilliant...brilliant I tell you. That's what you call making lemons out of lemonade!

Happy New Year to you and I'm looking forward to all of 2009's adventures! Happy Day!

Glad to see SD still has a great sense of humor after the shit, oops, I mean crap, she's been through. And she was rewarded with Lyle Lovett! Sometimes life just happens to work out the way it should.

BTW, Snooty, I am bit distressed. I think my son is running too many Bakugan videos on my Mac and it keeps crashing whenever I bring up your site. SO not cool! Must resolve before Monday.
