I Interrupt The Collectible Series With A News Flash.... A Band Called Alpha Rev, Who Are Dear To My Heart

I briefly interrupt my new series on collectibles with a news flash, straight from SD. Two of her best male friends (David and Brian who are your left in this picture) from high school have a band called Alpha Rev in Austin. They have recorded two CD's with a third one on the way, now available on iTunes. I think these guys may have finally hit the Big Time.

While they were in L.A. they taped an episode on GREEK (yes, the TV show) as the band of the week AND got to hang out with SD. Anyway, the episode airs on March 15th, which I suppose makes that their TV debut. Woot! Woot! You can read about it here.

This is my favorite song by Alpha Rev. Enjoy:

Both Brian and David graduated from the Univ. of Texas-Austin with double majors (something to do with rocket science or economics or something I can't remember) and still enjoyed their music so much that they decided to take it for a ride. They could both be making six figures by now (fine... perhaps not six, but five for sure) yet they managed to break into the Austin music scene (which is a huge scene!) with full force.  They have remained one of the hottest bands in Austin for the last 4 or 5 years. I love to catch their sets when they play at Sullivan's Ringside. But, it doesn't matter where they play. The music and the *scene* are always the liveliest in Austin.

Brian (Batch) was the Prom King when SD was Prom Queen (during their senior year of high school), and we love him dearly. He has more smarts and talent in his little finger than I have in my entire body. Brian plays piano, violin, electric violin, and guitar as well as other instruments. He is awesome to watch when he plays because he puts everything he's got into the music. His brother Barron (Batch) plays football for Texas Tech; both are incredibly intelligent and they are both fluent in several languages. Both Batch boys are going places.

David Wiley is equally as talented and smart and passionate.  His cello playing was featured in the IMAX movie called Ride Around The World back when they were all still in college together at UT-Austin. David was SD's prom date one year in high school and we've loved him ever since. He's smart, witty, charming, musically talented, and a genius. He also plays an array of musical instruments, although the electric cello is by far his best. David is also going places.

I miss being able to go to Alpha Rev concerts like I did when SD was still in Austin. Fortunately, I happen to know she applied to UT-Austin for law school today. Her final LSAT score was 168..... AWESOME! Wooooo Hoooooooooo!

Give these genius young guys a listen, please. You will not regret it. They have so many facets to their music. Besides, I love David and Brian, so do it for me. Please. This is their latest release, available on iTunes:

Very cool! Sorry I haven't been around much Snooty. I've been working a lot and had a couple of sick kids that needed extra attention and TLC.

I received the camera today and I'm doing a post about it/you now. It'll be up in a little while. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you taking the time for me! I love the camera.
Thanks, hugs and love,
