A Week Of Funerals And Watching Over Friends Who Needed Tending......

I feel just awful that I haven't been doing much in the way of blogging. My daughter (SD) has gotten me hooked on playing Scrabble with her and others, on my iPod Touch. Yes, I am totally enthralled with this game and have finally gotten to where I can actually beat a few people (I'm sure they aren't college graduates, lol). It has been the best way for me to forget about all of the bad things happening in our lives currently.

Still, I persevere because I love to play games and I love to win, which I consider to be the norm for most people. We all like to win, right?

In addition to this new addiction, I've also had a lot of other things going on. Our computer guru and good friend died this last week and he was only 54 years old. Our entire group of friends have been shocked and terribly saddened by this loss. Life will not be the same without him, as he was a very special person, and we will miss him SO MUCH! Frankly, it still hasn't sunk in.

Yesterday we found out another good friend died from cancer this week. He was one of the best men we've ever had the pleasure to know. We had seen him last summer at hubby's 40th high school reunion and he looked wonderful. We were just sure he had beaten the evil cancer but alas, it finally took him. So, more sadness.

I've also been recovering furniture and still trying to get our house market ready, which is looking to be more daunting than ever at this point. The guy we hired to paint the outside of our house and do repairs was helping a friend put a new roof on their house and fell, hurting his back. So, the painting is on hold for who knows how long. Just. Great.

Also, a good friend of mine had to have 2 teeth pulled this week while her hubby was out of town, so I went over to stay with her, making sure she ate something and nothing serious happened to her. It was worth it to make sure that she was okay, since she was on some strong drugs for pain.

So, as you can see, I haven't had much time for blogging between going to funerals and helping out sick friends. I'm sure things will get better by next week. I. Hope.

Meanwhile, I hope everyone is having a great weekend and I wish you all the best. Don't forget to take a picture of the moon, wherever you are tomorrow night. It's called a Super Moon and will be best viewed at dusk. It's predicted to be stunning in size and color....

So sorry to hear about your losses. I am finding this stage of life difficult as we are starting to lose people as well.

I will be out tonight with my camera!

I am sorry to hear about all of your losses.

I think I will pack up the LittlePrince and go for a drive to see the moon.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your friends.

You do sound like you've been busy! It's always something with painters, you know? LOL

My moon did not look like this and I did not take a photo with my crappy camera, but I did look at it for a very long time and enjoyed it :)

Sorry for all your losses, Snooty. It seems like every day there is a funeral...

I guess we're getting older.

I feel like it.

I'm thinking of you in this time of loss and tragedy. Hopefully this is it for a good long time! I just found out that one of my high school classmates lost her son in Iraq. He died yesterday in a bombing raid against his battalion. It's just so sad. :(

Hopefully all the bad stuff is done for a while. Unfortunately, I've noticed now that I'm a wee bit older, I'm attending a lot more funerals. Not liking it at all.
