It's Best To Be Careful When Prone To Being A Klutz....

I've been searching for some kind of info on what body parts you hurt when you fall & hit your lower right ribcage, and the results of that search are scary.

Last week, in the middle of the night, I got up to go to the loo (love using that word) and tripped over my Torso Track (now called the *Torture Track*). In that slow-mo movie that was running through my mind in the nano seconds it took for me to fall, I wasn't even thinking because I was still asleep. I hit the edge of the TV stand at the bottom of my rib cage on the right side. I nearly knocked the HDTV off although I'm not sure as to why that would concern me when my physical health was in a precarious position. Oh, and since I'm nearly 60 yrs old and have full blown Osteoporosis, this was my worst nightmare, right?

I immediately went to the kitchen and retrieved one of my many ice packs (because I'm a consistent klutz and must keep a full stock), strapping it onto my side with an Ace bandage. I returned to bed and when I awakened the next morning it felt so much better. Or perhaps I just imagined that while under the influence of four Advil.

The next day, our daughter SD flew in town to attend the Tall City Blues Festival with me. While she was here, I showed her how to use my new Skier's Edge machine (that I love) & immediately felt really bad pain at the bottom of my ribcage, which made me question whether it was a bruised rib, a bruised organ, or both. That was one week ago and the pain still persists. I can't even sleep on that side and it's a major *owie* just to get out of bed, but I'm getting it down to an art. Kinda. Sorta.

Really. Considering my disastrous cartwheel incident, slicing tips off fingers, falling off a window ledge when decorating at Christmastime and my countless other self-inflicted wounds of note, is anyone really surprised? Certainly not I.

I can't imagine why I thought I'd someday outgrow this awkwardness that has always enveloped me. But really, just call me Grace, because on skis, I'm a Master Of My Own Universe. You know. When I haven't otherwise hurt myself....

Soooooo....What have you been hurting lately? Come on! Please make me feel better here. Give. It. Up.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Mrs. Snoots. Still, you cannot wrestle the title of Queen Klutz away from me.

It's a lifelong position, like being a Supreme Court Judge.

Feel better.

nerve pain, from Shingles. The worst pain I've ever experienced. I think I'd rather birth a baby. It's been 3 weeks and still the pain persists. Oh well, this too will run it's course.
Hope you're getting better!

Ouch!! Hope you feel better soon! Considering that I visited the orthopedist for two different things last week, we really are two peas in a pod!

I think we could have a contest on who's the most klutzy. After falling down the steps last year and breaking my ankles, what did I do last weekend? Nearly fell down my brother's front steps. Why or why can I not think to use the handrail.
