Everyone invited was due to arrive at my friend's house at 3:00 AM and by 3:15 AM all 12 guests had arrived. Need I even mention we took naps that day?
Our host and hostess had planned an amazing feast including Eggs Benedict Casserole (to swoon for), oven roasted asparagus with garlic, Hollandaise Sauce from scratch, and a spinach salad with walnuts, red onion, feta cheese & a balsamic dressing. We also had Mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice, that were entirely too tasty.
For dessert, my friend's hubby made a multi-layered strawberry shortcake that was unlike anything I've ever had in someone's home.
Also, another guest brought English Bread Pudding with a scrumptious sauce that had whiskey or something in it. Whatever. It was delicious.
Did you know that Diana called Charles *sir* up until the week before they wed? I mean, can you imagine? William and Kate know each other well and enjoy so many of the same sports and other activities. They love being together.
Although many of the guests found criticism with Kate's dress and other details, I thought it was all wonderful and SO Kate. Not Diana. I have great faith in this marriage being one of the great ones of our generation. They looked so much in love. I know Diana was smiling down upon them.
However, don't get me started on Camilla the Witch....
