So, I showed you my $10.00 table from Goodwill yesterday. I'd already sanded it down, removed the slide out for the former computer keyboard it once accommodated, primed it, used wood filler where needed, sanded it again for smoothness, then let it dry overnight. Today, I began spray painting it outside, on a plastic tarp. Unfortunately, the winds from Hell were blowing so after it dried just a bit, I brought the table back inside where I began to very lightly sand the top again (to get rid of the gritty feeling it had after being outside). Aargh.
Am I pleased with the outcome? No. I'm completely IN LOVE with the results. Because the table was once a computer table, there was an oblong hole in the back (to allow the wires to get hooked up to whatever on the wall), I decided that rather than buy a piece of plyboard for the back, I'd just hot glue some toille fabric and it looks truly awesome!
Tommorrow I'll go back to see my new best friend at Home Depot (Shannon) and hopefully get another can of Rustoleum Indoor Colonial Red. Unfortunately, I recall buying the only two cans, thinking that would be enough. Hmmm.
What say you, bloggy friends?
