Now that Barack Obama has been sworn in, I am all about the future. George & Laura Bush are scheduled to be here in our town this afternoon for his *farewell speech*, but Mr. Snoots and I have decided we won't be going. I honestly don't want to hear anything more about the past. Instead, I want to look to the future on this historic day.
I wish President Obama all things good and pray that he can turn things around in this country, as he
has promised. Funny thing is, I think he can do it. No, I know he can do it because I have faith in this man that I've been slow to warm up to. Slowly, the tides that are my emotions, have changed and I have great confidence that he will make this presidential term one that will forever be remembered and praised.
I think our country needed this man who is not one of the *good ole boys* in our nation's capitol. Obviously, the old dogs weren't getting *it* done. Now that the cleansing is complete, let the good times roll, so to speak. Mr. President, now is the time to get out there and kick some political butt and do some serious trimming. So, let's get this show on the road!

I'm also hopeful that First Lady Michelle Obama shows that she can change things up as well. Laura Bush is truly a class act and must be difficult to follow. Actually, I have no doubts that she will show that she is a class act as well. I read somewhere that Michelle's mother will be moving into the White House with them, in order to care for the two girls, which is pretty cool. No problem with trust there. I'm thrilled that she'll be there to cover the girls while the President & First Lady tend to business.
If you have ever seen the movie "Dave", then you saw how he ignored the protests of the politicians to
trim spending and the *Washington Machine* did not like it one little bit. They wanted to get him out of there quickly, before he made any really gargantuan changes for the good of the country. He went over the heads of all the agreements made between lobbyists and congressional representatives, which is what I would truly love to see happen, although that's probably a Pipe Dream. However, if anyone can accomplish this, I believe that President Obama can. I pray that he can....

I think the Bush coverage will go until about 6:00 PM, since the Bushes aren't scheduled to arrive until 5:00 PM.
