The Wind Caves Of My Mind.... I'll just Blame It On Global Warming

Today is another fun filled day here in West Texas, with winds that are strong enough to give you a facial peel if you have to get out in it. And frankly, I do need a bit of dry skin sloughing, but I'd rather have it done at a spa, thank you very much.

I mean, we've been waiting since before Thanksgiving for some warmer weather. In fact, I've been praying for it. The problem being that I failed to add the words *no wind* into that prayer. So, we have finally gotten temps up in the 60's, but along with it comes the gusting winds of up to 60 MPH. The same type winds that blew part of our former roof off the house and snapped a tree in half in the backyard. Oh. Yeah. I'm excited, can't you tell?

It can get pretty frightening sitting inside the house, hearing things crash and bang around outside. I don't even want to go look and see what is getting destroyed this time. Perhaps Mr. Wind can just give it to me all at once, when I'm prepared to deal with it. Which is like never.

After spending the entire last week packing things to go out to the storage unit, I drove out to said unit this morning and could barely even keep my car in one lane. And to the people who stared at me as if I were drunk at 9:00 AM I'd like to say, "Fine. You turds jerks all drive Ford F250 trucks, so of course you don't weave in this wind. It's all a matter of perspective. Duh. You have tons of truck weight under your fat asses big behinds, guzzling gas as only Texans can. I, on the other hand, did my part in becoming a little *greener* and now I drive a Toyota 4 Runner. So, conceivably, I might be having trouble staying in my lane due to the fact I don't drive a huge, heavy truck. Seems like a no-brainer to me, but go ahead and stare if you really must."

Anyhoo, as the wind continues to blow and gust, I can feel it making wind caves inside my brain as I write. Before too long, the old brain might even start whistling like the kitchen vents and the front door have been doing today. Yes, it sounds really creepy too. It also renders me unable to do much of anything besides physical labor without the presence of sharp knives or electrical tools of any kind. So, it's back to taking overdoses of allergy medications, snorting Afrin, and packing boxes for me, where I should be safe unless a tree falls over on the house.

I believe I'll just blame it all on Global Warning like all the politicians do..... Even if it was just a big fat fabrication of Al Gore's mind. It's still good for when I need something non-existent to blame things like the weather on. Or maybe I should just blame it all on Al Gore for putting the whole *Global Warming* idea into our heads in the first place. That seems like a much better solution. It's all Al's fault.

Oh, and you might be wondering why I'm packing up boxes when we haven't even got our house on the market yet. Well, according to several real estate websites, the less you have in your home, the easier it will be to sell. So, I'm removing basically half of everything in every single room in the house and stuffing as much as humanly possible into our rented storage unit. However, I'm worried that before I'm done I'm going to have to rent an additional storage unit in order to accommodate. You certainly can accumulate a lot of crap over a period of 24 years...
