For some unknown (to me) reason, our cat Trouble has been exhibiting some strange behavior lately. She's 15 years old, so I'm guessing she should be past the kitty stage. However, she gets on the bench in our front hall and starts scratching at the walls. It's almost as if she's fighting some unseen foe. She only recently started to display this odd behavior.
Here she is in all her glory.... Crazy kitty. I caught her with the first picture, then she pretended to be shy for the second picture. Yeah right! Maybe we have Poltergeist that I don't know about. She sure seems to be fighting some sort of battle.... a battle of paranormal proportion.
It's possible she might just be getting Dementia, but it doesn't seem to make her unhappy.

Hi-I'm a lurker until now - I do read your posts everyday and love, love, love to read all about you and your life!! You are an incredible person!! Now that I have fawned all over you....maybe there is something that has made a home in your walls and the cat can hear it and wants it out....one of those little lizard guys maybe?? Just a thought! And thanks for sharing your life!!
I might agree there is something in your walls if my cat didn't do the same thing...to the bathroom door. There is nothing in the door. I do believe both our cats could be headed toward crazy!
Could Trouble be hearing a critter inside the wall?!?
I know just how she feels.........
As you know I'm over 17years and sometimes I go a little crazy myself........
I'd like to lie on a bench and scratch the walls myself. Looks kinda soothing.
my older cats surprise me as well.Wonderful life 15 sandy
Is she seeing bugs! Ha, maybe it is a poltergeist.
Our kitty's MUST be related.
Great shots!

LOL...They are just too cute when they do that! We had one that did the same thing! I would ask her why? She would turn..look at me like I was the idiot...then start right in again!
Dang it, I want a cat so bad, but my pooch Chloe is scared to death of them. She'll run like hell chasing them, but if they ever stop and just look at her, she screams and runs back to the house. Big Chicken.
Trouble looks pretty happy to me, whatever she's doing with the wall.
Okay. This is waaaay off the wall.
She may just need her claws clipped a little.
I think I just figured it out. The paint is glossy & I think she sees her paws in the reflection. Kinda like shadow boxing. *Sigh*
we could all learn something from this...
not quite sure what, I'll get back to you on it.
Your cat is a hoot. She is so frisky... She makes my cat look lame!
my guy Siren has one wall that he loves to attack - he'll sit and stare at it for a long time and then scratch it or lunge at it
I swear they can see spirits
or
they're just nuts!
Trouble is a cutie. She reminds me of our Sylvester who we had to have put to sleep Dec. 30th. He was 14 years old.
Trouble looks very healthy though. Could there be mice in the walls? I was just reading something about this in the paper the other day (our animal columnist, Gary Bogue)...that cats can actually hear them. I hope that's not what it is. Sometimes cats are just plain goofy!

Oh yeah, I really like your blog and am now following you!
Cats are so funny. Mine chases "invisible bugs." Maybe you have them too!
