I've scheduled this post for while I'm at the Gastroenterologist's doing That Thing I Don't Want To Do. As I recall, my bloggy friend Flea is having hers done today as well. So, here's a toast to us for even going through with this!
I am scared absolutely shitless about having this done, but with enough drugs (Demerol) I should at least survive the procedure, if not the eventual diagnosis. It will be a true miracle if I make it through this deal unscathed. Or make it long enough to complete the procedure. This is totally freaking me out and I'm more than ready to be through with all of this. Or bail.
I'm scared that they will find something bad because for my entire life I've had (ahem!) gastrointestinal problems which was, at long last, diagnosed as IBS. There! I've said it and now it's out in the open. I've had this my entire life, but when I was growing up there wasn't a name for it. I just thought everyone had this, for the longest time. I had no idea that you could live without the pain and embarrassment of this disease. So yah, I. Am. Scared. Throughout my life my guts have put me through Hell, although within the last year I discovered Acidophilus. It restores your *innerds* flora, so to speak. I've experienced great success with Acidophilus, after trying everything under the sun that didn't work. The fact remains that my insides have been through Hell for years. So yes, I'm scared.
Until I surface again (hopefully with a good diagnosis) I am

I hope everything comes out okay .. and I have to say I thought about how to phrase that a long time before I commented.
I hope you are already back home and having a grilled cheese with some tomato soup. That makes everything better.
Welcome Home!
Hope all is well on the inside too. Sorry but I cracked up when I read "scared shitless". LOL.
I know what you mean about the innerds being torn up. My doctor put me on Acidophilus a few months ago as well. Seems to work pretty good for the most part.
Hope all is well!!
All WILL be well! And good for you!
I am sure that all will be well. TOG enjoys a full meal plus dessert after these affairs. It's the perfect time for ice cream and cake!
Be good to yourself!
I hope it all went well, can't wait to hear it.
Hey Snoot! Are you having that 'did I just experience an alien abduction' feeling yet? hmm?
I used to help out with colonoscopys in another hospital and the prep is by far the hardest part. The gastroenterologist used to joke that he liked us OB girls to come help him, that we were already used to that end of the patient it was just turned the other way up was all! lol
Best wishes on great test results. I'm hoping for something like "Wow, we thought you would be full of s*** but surprisingly, you weren't!" lol
I have been praying for you. I hope things are okay!
I'm waiting and wondering. If I were there, I so would've been happy to go with!!! You are going to come out feeling like a million bucks because you tackled something that frightens you.
Waiting and wondering,
J
