Mi Ritorno l'Italia... In Other Words, I'm Baaaaaaack

Although I've returned from Italy my mind hasn't quite caught up with my body, so this post will be short. The jet lag from returning to the states is far worse than it was going to Italy. So, it might be several days before I'm able to assimilate my scattered thoughts and memories of everything we saw, experienced and did.

We left Italy at the freaking crack of dawn yesterday (Monday) and at last arrived home around 9:45 PM. I'm still having difficulty not speaking in broken Italian to everyone. "Scusi.", "Per favore.", "Gracie." "Parla Inglese?", "Quanto costa?", "Ciao", "Dove' il museo?", Buon Giorno", "Carta di credita?.", "Buona sera.", "Buono notte.", "Domani in mattina.", "Giri a sinistra.", Giri a destra.", "Va dritto.", "Vino rosso.", "Vino blanco.", "Limoncello per favore?", Mi scusi.", "Mi dispiace.", and the list goes on.

When my mind and body decide to work in unison again, I should be able to eventually relate the wonders we discovered in Rome and Florence. Until then, I'm taking to the mattress in hopes of getting the swollen stumps I call feet, back to normal. I'd at least like to see some ankle bones again.

So, where is the website that tells you that you have to get Euros BEFORE going to Italy? Apparently, not in our small city where we were told it took TWO WEEKS to get them before a trip. We were also told NOT to change our dollars for Euros at the airport. Wrong. As it turned out, we could have gotten the most decent rate at an airport, but that's a whole other post in itself.

Oh, the stories I have to tell!!! Just give me some time to return to normal and you shall hear them all. We did, without doubt, have the time of our lives....
