Yes, I'm totally smitten with my little bench since I painted it and recovered the seat. Unfortunately, I was ripping it apart before I realized that I had forgotten to take a *before picture*. Frankly, I was on a mission and just got carried away. Oh, there's a big surprise (NOT). Anyway, the bench once belonged to Mr. Snooty's paternal grandmother and we'd had it for 16 years, never having done anything to it. Originally, it was a lovely cherry wood that had seen better days and the seat was covered in a canvas like mattress ticking of white with blue stripes.
Since I've been in the whole *re-purposing & re-furbishing* mode, I found a lovely Toile fabric on sale at Fabric Warehouse and there was just enough to cover the seat bench. SCOOOOOORE! It only took one can of black spray paint (I used Krylon's Indoor/Outdoor Flat Black) and it has completely changed the look of this antique bench.
It has returned to its place of the last 16 years, our dressing room off our master bath. Now, my only worry is someone actually sitting on it. I might go postal. Thank goodness it's where it is, otherwise someone might actually want to sit on it.
Now, I'm just waiting for a day (if we ever get one) when the Winds From Hell are not blowing so that I can spray paint our outdoor wrought iron dining table and chairs. I have the paint waiting and ready to go. However, the winds continue to blow over 35 mph, for 6 months now. I swear it's making me insane.
Did I ever mention that my decorating style is actually called *whatever we've inherited or been given*? It's a tough row to hoe some days, trust me.....

Love it!!
it looks great! That would be perfect in my master bedroom w/ my toile bedskirt and shams.
Don't you just love when everything old is new again?!
It's beautiful. You do have a knack for decorating Ms. Snoots. One of these days, I'm going to get up the nerve to redo my dining room chairs. Sadly, there are 6. Now I wish I had a smaller table.
You are such a great "re-doer". I just don't have the knack. I love the bench!
