Neverwas... A Most Magical Movie - Plus - A Few Awards

I can't believe that I just stumbled upon this movie while looking for something decent to watch. I also can't understand why it didn't receive more notoriety, considering the stellar cast of actors including Aaron Eckhart, Ian McKellan, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Brittany Murphy and William Hurt. It is a true gem of a movie that reveals an interwoven masterpiece of fantasy worlds, mental illness, courage and hope, which is as simply as I can possibly put it without revealing more than I should.

I'm always pleasantly surprised when I happen upon a true *sleeper* and people, this is the real thing. The acting is superb, as is the amazing cinematography. The tale is one of a psychiatrist/father's mental illness and the son who became a psychiatrist in an attempt to unravel the mysteries of his father's death in an earnest effort to save a former patient of his father's. It's a very intricate tale that is spell-binding from start to finish.

It isn't often that you come across a movie that leaves you feeling the way this one does. On a scale of 5 stars I give this one 4 stars and highly recommend it.

On another note....I'm leaving today, driving to San Antonio, but am taking along the laptop, so I'll keep checking in and be able to post. I'm going to visit my good friend and her hubby who I've written about before. We plan to eat at Mi Tierra's and drink a few Margs and I'm going to get a lot of much needed rest in my second favorite bed in the world (my own bed is first). I won't be doing any laundry, cooking any meals, doing any chores. I will be giggling with my friend about anything and everything, while lying around like a beached whale, eating bon-bons. Basically, I'm going to get a much needed friend-fix. Hopefully, when I return, I'll be healed from the cartwheel incident and the bags under my eyes will have magically disappeared. Well, maybe not that.

And now for a few well deserved Bloggy Awards:

The first one goes to The Keeper of All Things because she just cracks me up on a daily basis.

The second one goes to scargosun because she constantly surprises me and makes me laugh.

The third award goes to Sounding Forth because she cracks me up too and I like the way she writes.

Hey, I like to laugh. So sue me.

I have the movie Neverwas-- It was totally NOT what I thought it was going to be, but with Sir McKellan, you know it has to have something!
And congrats to your award recipients. I have a post that I have drafted three times now because I hate having to single just a few out :-)
