Oy! What A Week This Has Been....

Just when I thought we had gotten everything repaired or replaced around here, a new round of *breakage* has suddenly begun. Last weekend the ice maker broke again and started shooting out ice cubes like they were missiles, then the motor of the ice maker promptly burned out and stopped. The next day, the big upright freezer door broke and is now being kept closed by a large strip of duct tape.

Yesterday the washing machine quit agitating. It seems to run through the cycles perfectly until it's time to agitate. Then nothing. Needless to say, nothing in the load came all the way clean. I honestly did not want to buy new washer & dryer before we moved because our space here can't accommodate front loaders, which is what I eventually want.

Today I kept wondering why I was sweating like an *oinker*, only to discover that the air conditioning on the kitchen/den/living room side of the house has gone out. Again. It's supposed to be 100* today, so this is not a good thing.

I was forced to cancel my trip out to L.A. to help our daughter move back to Texas because it would have cost over $3000.00 to rent a u-haul truck, load everything ourselves, spend the night at a hotel in Beverly Hills, spend the night in Tuscon, pay for gas, and pay for meals. So, I found a moving company that would load all of SD's things and bring it to Dallas, set up her bed again, etc. for $850.00. That way, she can still drive her own car back.

So, I finally get all of this worked out and Mr. Snoots calls to say SD wrecked her car, (Can we all spell TEXTING WHILE DRIVING?) although she says it is still drivable. I can't help but question how far it will be able to make it. It's completely feasible that I might have to drive out to pick her up somewhere along the way. Ugh.

I'm guessing that when she gets here we'll let her take her old car (the Lexus that Mr. Snoots drives) up to Dallas. We'll get her car repaired then I'll drive it up to Dallas and pick up Mr. Snooty's car and drive it back out here to the desert. Gah. And, I have to get this done before I leave on my 2 week trip to Italy.

All of this is the stuff that makes me crazy. And, this means I get to deal with Mr. Plumber's Crack. Again.... So, ummm, yeah. My week hasn't been going so well. How about yours?

Wow. And I thought that an appraiser showing up to our shack tomorrow was bad. Good luck, sweetie! You'll be loving life in Italy soon!

I could totally fit in one of your luggage bags.
Our fridge was making odd sounds yesterday (as well as the dishwasher) so I took off all the vent pannels. Whew weee ~ what a bunch of hair balls! Anywho ~ things are sounding fine today (knock on wood) but if anything goes in this heat I'll meet you at the terminal.

A future lawyer texting while driving? She'll have to convict herself! I am going to Italy on September 2!!! Where are you going???

The good thing is that the post ended with the Italy trip which'll be a great way to decant.

I had kind of a FML week myself. It included appliance breakdowns, wardrobe malfunctions and aging Dad issues. And it ended with an annoying comment stalker on my blog. Oh well. I'll be playing golf this weekend. That should help. ;o) Have a good one.

It must be going around. We had major plumbing issues, appliance issues, laundry issues, blogger issues, me loosing my mind issues ;o), and trying to get kids to the places they need to be issues.

But it ended with Golfing Daughter being the first girl EVER (and only 7th grader) to make the middle school BOYS golf team. So I guess it all worked out.

I LOVE Italy! Florence is my favorite.

THIS is exactly what I've been trying to tell parents of little children who have the audacity to talk to me about my free time. What free time??? Just because they move out doesn't mean your every waking moment isn't still spent navigating through their issues.
Wow Snooty, you have had a sucktacular week-- I hope you've recovered!
