When I Hear Someone Claim That The Human Personality Can't Change, I Want To Scream!

Every time I hear someone say that the human personality can't change, I cringe. For every case against, there are always countless exceptions to the rule. Never say never, right? Frankly, I do know a large number of people who could never change the way they are. No. Matter. What. However, there are many others who have worked very hard to better themselves, which I support with fervor.

I've known some extraordinary people in my life and many of them were cases in point. I thank God for giving me the overall insight to realize nothing is written in stone until we die, right? As long as we are still alive and still human, we have the capacity within us to change. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. That is how the controlling beings in our populated world like to keep others under their *emotional thumb*. It simply doesn't have to be so. You are the Master of Your Own Universe. So act like it.

If someone is trying to control your world, then grow a spine and set them straight, even if it means just requesting that they either be nice (or at least niceR) to you or back off from *whatever* a bit. Always be kind and gentle with your requests, as many people firmly do not believe a leopard can change its spots person can change their personality and it may take time for these Neanderthal individuals to morph into the *new world* of acceptance. Sometimes these people even include acquaintances and friends, as well as family members, whether by blood, or by marriage. These can often be much tougher cases against change. Persevere. Surely no one can be that narrow minded, stupid and mean their entire lives. Or can they?

Our society in America still has such a long way to go. So. Not. Kidding. Learn to open your heart and your mind to others even if they aren't always what they appear to be. You might be oddly startled to see people as they really are. It could open a whole new world of possibilities for everyone! It might even be healthy for you.

Honestly, if a cat can be trained to use a toilet, I believe humans can be trained to change their basic personality. We are the highest form of life on earth, are we not? So. Act. Like. It. We're not feral animals and we have nice, large brains with which to think through the matters of life. Imagine the amazing friends you could possibly have!

Of course, there will always be those who are borderline nut-so  and will never change, but that doesn't mean others cannot. You just have to choose to change and the skeptics need to learn to be somewhat more accepting of others in those around them...

I mean, where the heck would I be without all of my wonderful, crazy friends?

I dunno. I think that the core of who we are remains the same. that true personality change happens because of God, not us. Even that we tend to resist. I do, anyway.

There's people around me I've been trying to change for years....:)

Probably they've been trying to change me too.

I do find as I get older, that I am more accepting of other people, or maybe it's that I really don't give a damn anymore.

Have a great day, Snooty.

I agree with you. People do have big brains. However that photo of a guy running in a giant hamster wheel may challenge that.

It's getting someone else to change that's the issue. I know I've changed a great deal over my lifetime. The spine is stronger, but still needs work.
