Whew! What Fun To Be Had During Oral Surgery For Tooth Implants!

Let me just tell you that I'm having the best time of my life since I started the tooth implant process. It seems like a month ago (although it was just last Wednesday) and I've left the house only once, for 10 minutes. It wasn't because I wanted to. Missing teeth tend to make you want to stay home and hide, as if you were some circus freak or homeless person. Why didn't I do a bridge? Because I always seem to be indecisive about everything from A to Z until forced to make the wrong decision.

I'm still in excruciating pain but refuse to take any more pain pills (Hydrocodone). I stopped taking those the second day after surgery because they made me start itching madly, all over my body. It was like I had massive mosquito bites and it was making me cuckoo.  Now, I'm just taking handfuls of Advil.

I'm still trying to get SD's room finished but the painter moves at his own pace, which I cannot control. However, I can rest easy in the knowledge that he has done his job well, albeit slow as molasses. Having explained this to SD, I believe she understands things might not be finished in time for her arrival and she's good with it as long as she doesn't have to sleep in a fetal position any longer. Okay. Furthermore, we've given him that time *off* so that she can have her privacy. When she gets mad, she takes no prisoners, so we wouldn't want that to happen, would we?.

That said, I think her room is going to be amazing. I've done my homework & can't wait to get everything installed and put to use. I hope it's going to be fabulous but won't really know until I have a chance to finish it all!

Since my surgery last Wednesday, I've only had chocolate shakes, lots of water, scrambled egg sandwiches with the crust cut off, and potato soup (that I made yesterday). Mr. Snoots is stuck with cooking for himself but at least he can eat what he wants.

I'm especially excited about Thanksgiving and cooking all of the food I won't be able to eat. Let's see... I can eat cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy and perhaps some green bean casserole if I keep my head tilted far to the left. It could work!

Obviously, I won't want to smile but knowing myself I'm sure that I will, exposing my newly removed teeth in all their gaping grandeur. Each one resembles a miniature of the Grand Canyon, tied with a bow (stitch) and is about as attractive as it gets in my life these days. Please. Don't be jealous.

So, what are your plans for Thanksgiving this year?......

It's gonna be so nice when it's done...I promise! Have a wonderful time together. That's what matters. That's what I'm going to be doing with my babies. The three of us together in NYC for a few days! Cannot wait to have them to myself!!!

We're heading over to Evelyn's. She just loves doing the mass cooking. All we have to do is show up and be appreciative.

BTW- Have you thought of trying acupuncture to help with the pain? I've never used it for dental pain; but it's helped me with a lot of other things.

I'm sorry that you are still in pain! I had no idea it was such a long process! I say embrace your toothlessness - smile big and try to kiss everyone!!!

I'm trying to catch up from not being able to sit upright long enough to read and comment on blogs. I had my gallbladder removed. Well, why not? It occasionally flares up and I'm told it would only be a matter of time before I had a full blown attack and had to have it out anyway. Since I already met my deductible when I broke my ankles I decided to have the old girl removed while it would be free. Anyway, you must keep your eye on the prize. You will have a beautiful, blinding smile once the implants are finished.
