Fred, Bessie And I Meet Fellow Blogger Janie

What a fun day this has been! Fred, Bessie and I ventured downtown again to meet Janie of Sounding Forth for lunch at the (locally) legendary Italian restaurant Luigi's. (When I was a little girl they still had sawdust on the floor and we always thought it was such a treat to go there. I still feel the same way.) When we arrived, Janie was already seated but we spotted her right away.

You won't believe all of the wonderful goodies that Janie brought for Fred and Bessie. She handed me an enormous gift bag filled with a pair of miniature cowboy hats, Texas Size Jalapeno Seeds (which are really big green jelly beans), a package of tissue/hankies for each, several Texas style bumper stickers, two *Don't Mess With Texas* drink coolers, a deck of Texas playing cards, a Texas fun map, and two really great Texas coffee mugs. Oh Wait! I almost forgot the bales of hay they are standing on. Is Janie hilarious or what? The bovines are both in hog heaven right now. Whew! I think I'm going to have to go ahead and send Flea a box of all the souvenirs, otherwise, the shipping costs will soon be going through the roof.

At any rate, Janie is so cute and exactly as fun as I thought she'd be. Of course, the bovines loved her as well. She and I even discovered that we know more people in common than we'd previously thought, so it's a wonder that we had not ever met before. We decided that meeting once a week for lunch might be just the thing. So, it seems Fred & Bessie have gotten me together with a new friend. What amazing bovines they are!

Sadly, it was time to end our two hour lunch (it only seemed like 30 minutes really) and we bid our farewells. Sniff, sniff! But not to worry! Janie and I will most likely be meeting again for lunch next week, even though Fred & Bessie will be off to new adventures by then.
Did I mention we gave Fred and Bessie kisses? Yup. Further proof of my insanity and it must be contagious, as Janie took part as well.

Fred & Bessie belong to Flea and it was her brainchild. Not mine. I sure have had fun with them though.

If it's okay with Flea, they are going next to Daryl of *out and about in new york city*... I decided that after West Texas, they might be needing some REAL culture, lol. Perhaps she will send them on to someplace like California, to see the Pacific Ocean, lol. You know. Once they've seen the Atlantic from NYC. There's nothing like it.

Flea may never get them back, lol. But she will have lots of lovely souvenirs from Fred & Bessie's travels. he he

What? You don't think that Luigi's in Midland America is REAL culture?

Isn't it wonderful meeting blog friends (otherwise known as blends) in real life!

Are Fred and Bessie going for Texas barbecue while they're visiting?

What a great meet up and how nice to bring the loot she did.

Can I come visit you and sit on the dashboard of your car while you drive me around? Please?
